Conrad Fort Lauderdale

The Conrad Fort Lauderdale is an extension of the Conrad Miami from the luxury, global Conrad hotel chain. The building is redesigning its appearance in order to appeal to a more high-end group of residents. Currently, it is sitting at 551 N Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. right next to its closely related Hilton Fort Lauderdale. Both buildings are owned by the Hilton Group. An approximated $34 million is being spent on the renovations overseen by the Garcia Stromberg firm that will allow residents to live with resort-style amenities including: daily housekeeping, 24-hour valet, beach service, and poolside restaurant and bar. Icon Las Olas

After years and years of building ground debates, the Icon Las Olas has finally been approved for construction next door to the historic Stranahan House at 500 E Las Olas Blvd. It is slated to be the tallest building in Downtown Fort Lauderdale at a staggering 42 stories tall (455 feet). The building's developer is the renowned Related Group. The building will have 272 units and 15,000 square feet of retail space coming to a total of $250 million for the project's development. Icon will be in the premier location with one side facing Riverwalk and one side facing the New River.

This 26-story apartment complex is set to be built in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale overlooking the New River at 400 SW 1st Avenue. Marina Lofts


This new project built by Asi Cymbal, of Cymbal Development, strives to combine the perfect mixture of urban living with surrounding green space. The project's mastermind is high-end architect, Bjarke Ingels, responsible for the exquisite Grove at Grand Bay. The project is currently gaining its zoning permits and is set to be built at 400 S.W. Third Avenue. Marina Lofts will feature 36 stories with 856 units overlooking parks, promenades, restaurants, and cafes. In addition, the project is very forward-thinking in its design to be environmentally friendly, including green roofs and walls, and an innovative drainage system incorporating storm water travelling through inlets and interconnected pipes. New Condo Ft Lauderdale

A new condo has been proposed to the Planning and Zoning Board of Ft Lauderdale, in the area just North of Sunrise Blvd along Federal Hwy.    The site, located at 1055 N. Federal Hwy. Fort Lauderdale, FL, is being proposed by Johnson Development Corp.  The proposed mixed-use project will consist of 205 residential above ground floor retail.  The almost 9 story building sits across from another recently announced residential project, Riva Fort Lauderdale. Views from the project will be limited due to the Riva condo as well as East Point Towers which will block any East views.  The location is well located close to Ft Lauderdale Beach, Downtown Fort Lauderdale as well as to the airport.

Las Olas Blvd Cross walk

The newly installed illuminescent crosswalk at the intersection of Las Olas Blvd & NE 13th Ave is aimed at reducing vehicles speed on  Las Olas.  Steps aimed at curbing the traffic speed have failed and local residents are hoping this next stategy works.  The speed is readily noticed along Las Olas Blvd from NE 11th Ave to NE 15th Ave.  It is often difficult crossing the street between these Avenues as cars are speeding by.  The lighted crosswalk as well as a new "parklet" are both attempts to reduce speeds and improve safety.  Let's hope this works; taxpayers are on the hook for approximately $50,000.

Construction in Fort Lauderdale

You don't need to be an economist to understand that our local real estate market is changing.  All you need to do is look up at the influx of cranes that take up the Fort Lauderdale skyline. Albeit, the end product that stem from these cranes are mostly luxury rental apartments but in any case, its a start.  Well positioned locations are the first to come out of the ground although there are sites on Sunrise Blvd that have gone vertical.  The Related Group is in the planning stages of their second phase of New River Yacht Club.  The first phase of New River Yacht Club has recently been "topped off" and occupancy is scheduled for later this year.  Both projects are well positioned locations in Fort Lauderdale, directly on the New River and across from Downtown Fort Lauderdale.  The site is close to Las Olas Blvd and a few miles West of Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Luxury Waterfront Homes Ft Lauderdale

The luxury waterfront home market in Ft Lauderdale has been robust as of late.  There have been several notable sales along the Las Olas Isles as well as Bay Colony.  There have been 26 sales of $2,000,000 or higher in the last 60 days.  One of the higher sales was located at 2550 Del Lago Drive in the Harbor Beach area of Fort Lauderdale.  The home has 7 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms & 3 half bathrooms all in 12,000 sqft of living area.  The price?  $8,350,000.  The home featured 145' of waterfrontage, was built in 2008 and had never been lived in.
